Evans is gedwongen samen te werken, maar hoe dichter ze bij de waarheid komen, hoe duidelijker het wordt: de grootste bedreiging voor Colt Lake is misschien Gaines zelf. • Kenkenreviews.com: Bad Man is a ridiculously fun watch. It’s the kind of movie that delivers the laughs you expect, but also throws in a few punches (literally and narratively) that remind you it’s more than just a buddy cop comedy.
• Searchmytrash.com: Feels quite fresh, thanks to a healthy infusion of comedy (but not on the spoofy side of things), a script that reverts genre expectations, and includes social commentary about small town life on the side. And a subtle yet well-paced directorial effort as well as a solid cast playing well-drawn characters only help make this a great piece of genre entertainment.
• Ukfilmreview.co.uk: a powerful fable about the ethical dilemma of the modern person trying to navigate a world full of false facts and social uncertainty. The thematic depths are layered only for those looking for them, though, and the rock n’ roll soundtrack keeps the over tone pleasing for fans of action comedy thrillers.

• Subcultureentertainment.com: Benefits from a spirited performance from Gibson, who delivers above and beyond, and Thames is very good as Noah. Safe, cosy, undemanding thrills for family friendly viewing.
• Theguardian.com: A bright spot is young star Mason Thames, also excellent in Ethan Hawke horror The Black Phone. He turns in a soulful performance.
• Moviereelist.com: Monster Summer works very hard to give the audience the hazy, wistful nostalgic past that none of us really remember and it succeeds.
• Crunchonthis.com: Gibson’s presence definitely gives the film some credibility (and watchability) and he doesn’t simply phone in his role here as you would expect. Even Kevin James and Lorraine Bracco try to breathe life into parts that could have been played by anyone. In the end, you get a decent enough family-friendly horror film with zero bad language and nothing that should give the kids lasting nightmares.
• Eu.detroitnews.com: There's a bit of a "Stranger Things" current running through "Monster Summer," a spooky-enough piece of gateway horror which unfolds in the era when kids rode their bikes until the streetlights came on and entertained themselves with tall tales about their neighbors. "Monster Summer" captures a wholesome sense of wonder, and it depicts that time in life between childhood and adulthood when the world is both too big and too small at the same time.
• Rogerebert.com: We're talking purestrain nostalgia for the light-hearted kids' films of the ’80s, whether they be Stephen King adaptations or Spielberg productions like “The Goonies.” “Monster Summer,” the micro-budgeted but big-hearted adventure from child-actor-turned-director David Henrie.
• Fandomwire.com:  While the new adventure horror film Monster Summer is an homage to Goosebumps and Stranger Things, it targets a younger demographic and offers good, frightening family fun!

• Film-authority.com: The striking appearance of the film is to be commended, with the dark pastoral-Gothic look of Michael Cimino’s Heaven’s Gate, Walter Hill’s The Long Riders, or even Clint Eastwood’s Pale Rider; long coats, sparse landscapes, tough times in America. Brutal, unsparing and unsentimental, Rust isn’t an easy film to watch.

• Collider.com: Complimenting this authentic look are some really great performances from the cast. This isn't some cute little cowboy village, but a nasty, unfair chapter of American history that offers no mercy, not even to children.

• Gazettely.com: Descendent is a quietly unsettling fusion of domestic drama and alien lore, driven by Ross Marquand’s raw, shape-shifting performance and Peter Cilella’s artful restraint.

Maar wanneer één van hen verdwijnt en een ander wakker wordt met een uitslag op haar handpalm, precies waar ze de boom aanraakte, beseffen ze dat de vloek angstaanjagend echt is.

• Gazettely.com: Supplies ephemeral entertainment, meets genre expectations adequately. A well-made item of action cinema that.
• Jjbspins.com: Wildcat gets pretty dark, far more so than Nunn’s films in the Marine and One Shot franchises. The fight scenes are impressive. Easily recommended for VOD genre action fans.
• Punchdrunkcritics.com Tan’s scenes kick ass, which is unsurprising. Krige seems to be having the most fun she’s had since playing the Borg Queen, and it’s a genuine blast to see her as a total psycho.
• Movieweb.com: A badass Kate Beckinsale and her hastily assembled motley crew turning London into a bloody war zone after a ruthless betrayal. The breezy actioner ticks every Guy Ritchie box in an unabashed knockoff of his classic early hits à la Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. You get the requisite jewel heist, vicious gangsters galore, and an avalanche of ridiculous banter in wild settings.
• Caseymoviemania.com: Kate Beckinsale Anchors Competently Made Guy Ritchie-Style Action Thriller.
• Geekvibesnation.com: Kate Beckinsale in a preordained and surprising heist movie that is nevertheless a guns-blazing good time.
