Nick is een tikkende tijdbom op proef. Zijn nieuwe reclasseringsambtenaar, Chester, is een gladde roofdier in maatpak, die zijn vriendin Mel bespeelt als een prooi. Bedreigingen, afpersing en moord stapelen zich op tot Nick niets meer te verliezen heeft. Wat volgt is een smerige oorlog in achterafstraten en bloeddoordrenkte kamers, eindigend in een moordspel met een schroevendraaier als vonnis.
