Portland PD Detective, Ben Jacobs (Ed Westwick), heads up the task force assigned to the case. Events escalate as more & more people tune in on social media, and the stakes are raised even higher.  Jacobs and his team find themselves in a race against time to save the captives.

• Activecontext.net: But what I like about this movie is that it manages to keep it interesting. There are some surprises along the way and it’s easy to put yourself into the captivity situation. There are some really charismatic characters in there too. I like what they did with Darkgame, I would like to see more efforts on this subject for sure!

• Freekittensmovieguide.com: DarkGame is fast-paced and manages to create a lot of genuine tension in certain scenes. It also features a compelling, cryptically funny antagonist. Performed with gusto by Stephens, he’s the best part of the film.

1. Voicesfromthebalcony.com: Strong scenes of violence ... several cathartic action scenes. The result is an entertaining and unexpectedly violent film that, while it doesn’t get as nasty as the material might warrant, still makes for a solid exploitation adjacent watch.
2. Mailnewsgroup.com: A story brimming with resilience and the fight for freedom. With ten women at its heart, taken from their peaceful lives of luxury and thrown into a problematic plan by a notorious cartel, the movie sets the stage for a narrative of grit and perseverance.
3. 411mania.com: Escape is a fine piece of modern exploitation cinema. It’s an uneasy good time with a glorious ending that will make you cheer.
